All rights reserved. Did you know that adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) can be harmful to your child’s health? ACEs influence how they learn and can lead to health problems in the future. Everyone is different. Some need more support. Here are some examples of ACEs: ● Parental separation or divorce ● Incarcerated household member ● Domestic violence ● Alcohol or drug abuser in the home ● Sexual, emotional or physical abuse and/or neglect Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and health Health begins with hope. To support you and your family, your doctor may ask ques- tions about ACEs. People can cope with challenging events in their lives by creating a circle of wellness that includes caring support systems. Getting regular medical care is part of that system. This screening is for children and adults.
